RealLIVE! Vol. 2 marks an important juncture in the return of Frank Marino to the concert stage. In the early 90s, he had dropped out of performing; disillusioned by the music industry and carving out a new non-music career to care for his young family. What he hadn’t realized was that, in his absence, an online community of fans had kept his name and music vibrant through the internet. The night Frank discovered the website dedicated to his music was a revelation. The fans encouraged Frank to return to performing on his own terms with a series of legendary 3-hour club shows in support of his self-released album, Eye Of The Storm. RealLIVE! Vol. 2 is a document of an incendiary night of music - remarkable for it’s revelation (to the many who may have hitherto pigeon-holed Frank Marino as strictly rock/blues) of the guitarist’s command and ease with a jazz lyricism allowed to fully bloom within the freer context of live performance. Standout performances include “Ain’t Dead Yet”, “Electric Reflections Of War” and the 12 minute “Try For Freedom”
