Two years after the release of their critically acclaimed album Safe Travels, Brooklyn-based trio Jukebox the Ghost are at it again with the release of the single “The Great Unknown.” The song was recorded in LA with producers Andrew Dawson (fun., Kanye West) and Dan Romer ("Say Something" A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera) at the helm and was co-written by Ben Thornewill (Jukebox the Ghost) and Greg Holden (also co-wrote "Home" for Phillip Phillips). “The Great Unknown” is a cool blast of infectious fun to set the soundtrack for your summer. A rollicking anthem of self-affirmation and perseverance, “The Great Unknown” is sure to inspire and score many adventures for years to come. The song highlights the band’s ability to wrap serious subject matter in the context of their trademark brand of upbeat pop. Says Ben Thornewill of the song, “I wrote ‘The Great Unknown’ last summer with Greg Holden; it was the first time he and I had written together. It was one of those magical days where everything creatively falls in line. We were there working on it, but the song almost wrote itself. I remember biking home after recording and writing for 10 hours and listening to it on headphones getting that summery feeling of excitement and freedom. It was secretly my own personal summer anthem and now we (Jukebox with brilliant production help of Andrew Dawson and Dan Romer) have taken it and made it our own.”
